Thought Partner

What is a Thought Partner?

Thought partnership is the practice of sharing ideas and experience with others to help them navigate complex challenges. This may sound a lot like advice or mentorship, but the key difference is that thought partnership is always mutually beneficial.

When you pair with people who think like you do, you resonate—becoming a ‘sounding board’ for each others’ best ideas.

When you pair with people who think differently than you, you complement each other—stretching each others’ view of a situation to find and sort useful new approaches to a problem.

Why Me?

Simply and Purely, because I’m dedicated to paying it forward. For years I used the concept of “mind sharing”, where two people would share their thoughts on a given subject, based on their knowledge, values and experience.. Mutuality is the key; one person is not lecturing or coaching. Both are making input, discussing and sharing.

Often the sessions begin with: “this is the issue I am wrestling with and some of the ideas I have. What do you think about the approach?”

And the response is: “Based on my experience, here are some of my thoughts and concepts you might want to think about?”

And then a back and forth of sharing their thoughts and ideas.

I give you my vast knowledge gained over 12 years that has helped build and support digitally based organizations and brands. I catalyze transformation by helping you learn and apply new ways of thinking about the future, technology, your industry, and your organization.

Rather than managing a project or just conducting research, my Thought Partner approach provides 1:1 support to leaders open to new ways of thinking.

Unlike courses or webinars, where the information is generalized to everybody, my joy and reward comes from providing insights from diverse industries that challenge leaders and organizations in their thinking and practice. It can provoke an organization to improve and to innovate.

Thought Partners make the act of planning and thinking about a particular opportunity or challenge, intentional.  Offering genuine, honest listening w/out judgement and provide humble observations w/out giving advice unless asked for it.

People who engage regularly with a diverse group of Thought Partners achieve higher levels of performance and success.

Thought Partners put the chaotic swirl of modern innovation in context.

  • Evaluate, validate and/or shape a client’s existing business idea.

  • Foster creativity and new ideas through organic conversation

  • Identify and develop potential opportunities.

The Advantages of a Thought Partner

  1. Challenges your thinking.

  2. Provide information or a way of thinking that provokes you to innovate or otherwise leads to value creation in your business, career or life.

  3. Modifies or changes your paradigms, assumptions or actions that lead to better decisions for you and your growing business

A Thought Partner…

The High Level Process

Thought partnership is a deliberate process to consult on and fully understand the Thinkers present issue while coaching on how to best act on it.

Through a series of conversations over the course of 2 - 6 weeks, each Thinker is worked with on a 1-on-1 basis. We work through conversations, ideas, and complex decisions.  Asking them tough or clarifying questions, articulate values, set programmatic priorities, and ultimately land on a direction for the Thinker that feels grounded and clear.

  • Relationship development, establishing trust and staging a "safe and sacred environment" for honest and open dialect.

  • Tangibly understand the thinkers vision, set goals, clear roadblocks, and define a path for success.

  • The vision in action. Conceptualize ideas into tangible business concepts and plans. Diagnose and troubleshoot challenges along their journey, addressing roadblocks as they arise.
